Thank you! Definitely some good things to consider. If you can share, it would be very nice to see the actual social media policy document and/or templates.

I think every social media consultant/expert makes one or the other mistakes. Some can be directly pointed out and some cannot be. Whatever, business owners should take responsible in watching their moves on how they manage your social media. Just imagine what happens when these consultants don't behave the way according to your audience requirements?

You gave out lot of useful Social Media Questions here! This is really appreciative because many companies don't know how to leverage their social media marketing with their business .The basic rule they miss is to question themselves on: what, how, who.
What is your Goal to use social media?
How to measure it?
Who's responsible to them?

Great idea!
I never tought of doing it this way.
I usually take the reverse approach: I have a subject to pitch and I look for bloggers who write about the subjet.
One of the tools I use is http://addictomatic.com

I agree. For those who may not necessarily have social media marketer etched on their job description, there is always that apprehension. But I likened it once to putting a phone on an employee's desk and trusting that employee to not abuse the "free" calls or be abusive to customers etc. It comes down to the relationships one has with staff and the trust factor, and also on management.

Here there is another thing that rises when employers are engaged in developing your brand via social networks, It is their own personal profile! If we really have to make employees update Companies information on social networks, we should first make them aware how beneficial would that be for both when involved in SMM! Also they shouldn't feel it as an extra work to them and as an owner we should make them active to readily participate in social networks! But how? It totally depends on the management of your employees, business and work!
